Move It. Lose It. Live Healthy - Wellness Program

Our Innovative Wellness Program Helps Your Employees Lose Weight . . . And Your Company Gain Profit.

Introducing Move It. Lose It. Live Healthy!

T. Gilliam and Associates is pleased to provide an integrated wellness program uniquely designed for industry. Move It. Lose It. Live Healthy! Is designed to help your obese and overweight employees achieve a healthy body weight and, in the process, reduce the likelihood of many diseases and injuries. Simply put, healthier employees live more productive lives—which means they cost you less in healthcare expenditures. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Consider the Rising Costs of Employee Obesity obesity healthcare costs

In a recent Wall Street Journal article (4/7/05), General Motors stated that an obese employee cost the company about $1,500 more in health services each year compared to an employee with a healthy body weight. Perhaps this doesn’t sound like much. But let’s look at the bigger picture. The article went on to say that about 26% of GM’s active workers (341,000) and dependents are obese. The bottom line? Obesity is costing GM nearly $1.4 billion more in healthcare costs each year.

Recent studies show that our younger obese workers (under 40) and children can expect shorter life spans than the older work force (over 40). Further, diseases, injuries and disorders that command the high insurance reimbursement payments normally associated with older workers are now afflicting younger workers. This means the long-term expense of these diseases will be astronomical compared to what a company is paying today.

Education is the key to weight loss success

Knowledge works. People choose questionable quick fixes regarding their body weight because they don’t understand how their bodies functions or the role of exercise and good nutrition. Our wellness program provides the reasons why exercise is important and how to do it correctly. The same is true for nutrition. Once a person has a good foundation and understanding of these critical components to preventing obesity and related diseases, he or she will make positive lifestyle changes that yield lifetime benefits.

Pick the components that best fit your needs

The program is easy to implement. Using the “cafeteria” approach, you can build your own wellness program.
